FAQS

I'm affiliated with a LYS and I would like to offer a Tangled pattern as a class. Can I do that?

Team Tangled has worked in yarn shops for years and have faced this same scenario many times. If you would like to offer a class, Knit-Along, or Crochet-Along focused on a Tangled pattern, whether free or for sale, you simply need to direct each participant to go to the website and obtain their own personal copy of the pattern in advance. Please don't print out or photocopy patterns and hand them out yourself - this is in violation of national copyright laws.

Wait, you mean I can't print out free patterns on behalf of my customers?

Though it seems like no big deal when you print out a pattern for someone else when it's available to the world for free, the fact of the matter is not only is this act in violation of copyright laws, but it also hurts Tangled, its designers, and its sponsors. Please offer to write down the URL for a pattern instead and instruct individuals to go to the site themselves.

I sell my handmade items in local shops and farmer's markets. Can I sell items made from Tangled patterns?

You can not sell items made from Tangled patterns without the explicit permission of the designer. Some will allow you to sell items based on their pattern simply if you credit them with the design. Please contact the designer if you're interested in selling handmade items based on their pattern.
